Gold Coast Ambulance is a privately owned ambulance company that is dedicated to the safety of the citizens in the communities we serve. Our headquarters is located in the City of Oxnard on the Pacific Coast of Southern California.
Oxnard Ambulance was formed in 1949 by Jim Carver, Bob Brown took over ownership in 1960 and the current owner Ken Cook took over the company in 1980.
In 1984 Oxnard Ambulance consisted of 14 employees. It was also the same year the first paramedic unit was put into service. In 1991 “Oxnard Ambulance” was changed to “Gold Coast Ambulance” to reflect growth and expansion. By 2001 Gold Coast had grown to a staff of 31 Paramedics and 22 Emergency Medical Technicians, with 17 ambulances and 3 support vehicles. As of October, 2003 Gold Coast Ambulance has a staff of 41 Paramedics and 31 Emergency Medical Technicians, and a fleet of over 20 ambulances and 3 support vehicles.
